The fourth EFFESUS project meeting took place from 27-28 March 2014 in Visby on the isle of Gotland in Sweden. It was hosted and organized by the local project partner University of Uppsala Campus Gotland (UU). 32 representatives of the 23 project partners discussed the progress of the last six months and agreed on the upcoming activities within the next six months. The main topics were the further progress of the newly developed conservation compatible materials, their laboratory testing and their application at the selected case studies as well as the conceptualisation of the Decision Support System.

Presentations of local stakeholders about the building regulations, the district heating system, the achievements of energy savings in public buildings and a categorisation of buildings gave the participants a better understanding of the main challenges and appropriate solutions in managing a World Heritage Site like Visby from the energy’s point of view. A study tour guided by a former architect of the City completed the official part of the project meeting.

With a voluntary excursion to historic and cultural places on Gotland the project meeting ended.
