Booklet “Energy Efficiency in European historic urban districts – A practical guidance” – available soon!

The booklet “Energy Efficiency in European historic urban districts – A practical guidance” will be available as printed version at the final conference of EFFESUS on June 24, 2016 in Dordrecht, the Netherlands. Afterwards it will be also available as online version at this website.

It provides insights into the main results and findings of the four year European funded EFFESUS project. Organized in five main chapters, the booklet contains a wide range of information to support communities in improving energy efficiency in European historic districts. It includes key project outcomes of EFFESUS such as strategies for energy assessment, the analysis of existing solutions, the development of innovative solutions and a software-based decision support system, as well as presenting non-technical barriers encountered and experiences of the case studies.

Furthermore, together with the booklet, the EFFESUS video, illustrating the main project outputs, will be released.

Workshop “Historic Cities in Transition” at Sustainable Places

The “Historic Cities in Transition, Towards a Sustainable and Resilient Environment” workshop enables discussions surrounding innovative methodologies, urban data models, and ICT solutions to assist urban managers in improving the sustainability and resilience of historic cities from a multi-scale perspective.

This confirmed workshop will be co-chaired by  Aitziber Egusquiza and Alessandra Gandini of  TECNALIA at Sustainable Places June 29 – July 1 2016 in Anglet, France. The detailed agenda will be published before June.

The workshop takes place in cooperation with the projects EFFESUS, FASUDIR and REACT (Resilience, Accessibility and Conservation for Historic Cities).

Events: International Symposium BAU 2015

On January 24th we presented in the B0-Forum our interim project results and discussed the further development paths as well as our vision on sustainable and energy efficient historic urban districts.  Therefore over 50 participants attended the symposium at the International Construction Trade Fair BAU 2015 in Munich, Germany.
The BAU is  the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials, Systems. More information available here.

Events: Historic Scotland to Host Energy Efficiency Conference 2014

Historic Scotland, an EFFESUS Partner, is holding a two day Energy Efficiency Conference on the 30th of September and 1st of October 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland at the Royal Glasgow Concert Hall.
